Battle Buddy Response Team is a local nonprofit organization that assists veterans in need across the country. A small contingency currently, they need all the support they can get. I will link to a donation page to direct funds in the future.
We will be stepping off from the Washington County AMVETS at 0800, and end at the Frederick Memorial Park. This ruck will take at least 8 hours, and there will be set breaks for hydrating and eating. I will be making arrangements for a safety vehicle to provide transport and shelter for emergencies.
What to bring:
– Ruck bag and /or weighted vest (20lbs is recommended)
– Good footwear and a change of socks
– Moleskin for blisters
– Basic first aid kit
– Plenty of water (3 liters minimum recommended, liquid IV is also helpful)
– Salty snacks and carbohydrates (protein bars, beef jerky, trail mix, nuts etc)
– Appropriate attire, rain gear in case of inclement weather
– American flag or your branch of service
DO NOT bring any clothing, flags, banners etc that would be considered rude, offensive, or in poor taste. You will not be welcome to join if you violate this rule.
Show up hydrated and rested, this will NOT be easy but it is a team effort and no one will be left behind. Please contact me if you have any questions, and if you plan to attend make sure you respond to this event.
Feel free to share and pass this on to anyone who might be interested, this is open to everyone. If you cannot attend, please consider donating. Thank you for your support!
