Have you ever seen someone litter . . . and immediately pulled over? Not to confront the offender or to throw the trash away . . . but to keep it for yourself?
A 38-year-old man named Colin McCarthy was driving through Eugene, Oregon last Tuesday evening . . . and he just started hurling 100-dollar bills out of his car window. (???)
He was doing it long enough that the cops were getting calls about it. They tracked him down, and he told them he was “doing well and wanted to bless others with gifts of money.”
The thing is, it WASN’T all his. His family says he took the money . . . around $200,000 . . . from their shared FAMILY accounts.
The cops gave him a WARNING for the littering . . . and they thought about charging him with reckless endangerment or disorderly conduct for creating a dangerous situation on the road with people chasing after the bills.
His family says his decision to spread the wealth has left them BROKE, and they’re asking anyone who picked up cash to return it. It’s unclear exactly how much was lost.
The police can’t do anything to help them, because Colin’s name is on the account. So that’s a family issue.
