The 2022 Farm Aid concert was held Saturday in Raleigh, North Carolina, and our daughter and her family were in the audience. One major theme: climate change.  Co-founders Willie Nelson and John Mellencamp were both part of a press conference Friday night that focused on how it’s affecting small, family-run farms.

They announced plans for a big, three-day march in D.C. next spring called “Farmers for Climate.”  It’s set for the week of March 6th.  Here are a few quick highlights from the show . . .

As always, some big names were involved.  On top of Willie and John, the line-up included Chris StapletonSheryl Crow, and Dave Matthews.  Co-founder Neil                     Young wasn’t there this time because of Covid concerns.

There was a big $1 million donation.  Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsaywrote the check and gave it to John on stage before his set.  They joked that it was for a very                   expensive backstage pass.

Farm Aid has now raised upwards of $65 million for farmers since the first concert in 1985.

Miranda Lambert launched her Velvet Rodeo Vegas show on Friday at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino . . . and it’s getting rave reviews.   People say it’s “visually stunning” . . . but it isn’t just style, she also “shines vocally,” whether it’s her classic hits or her newer stuff.

Listen to what Miranda said about her preparations for the show.
