In today’s Honky Tonk Truth, we know the winners of last nights CMA Awards and Jeff Bridges mispronounced the biggest name in country music.
- Last night was the CMA Awards on ABC, and Chris Stapleton won big! He took home Male Vocalist of the Year, Best Song and Best Single of the Year with “White Horse”. Lainey Wilson won Female Vocalist of the Year and Morgan Wallen won the biggest award of the night, Entertainer of the Year. (You can find the rest of the night’s winners below)
- Talking about Morgan Wallen winning the big award it was kind of an awkward event. To start Morgan wasn’t even at the show last but that wasn’t the biggest story. Actor Jeff Bridges presented the award and he managed to mispronounce Morgan’s name. Instead of saying “Wallen” he said something closer to “Waylon”. This left fans upset and confused. Why was Jeff Bridges even presenting the award if he didn’t know how to pronounce one of biggest names in country music, also why didn’t the CMAs make sure he knew how to pronounce it.
