Williamsport, Pa. — Two women working at Arby’s concocted a scheme to steal thousands of dollars in roast beef from the restaurant, according to police.
Shaniyah Alyia West, 21, and Stephanie Davis, 63, of Williamsport, are now facing felony charges for allegedly stealing more than $3,000 worth of food and drinks from the store, located at 1726 E. Third St., Williamsport,
Here’s what Trp. Dylan Houser said happened:
In July 2023, owner Linda Rae contacted police after discovery a discrepancy in the roast beef log sheets over the previous few months. Initially, she believed the roast beef wasn’t being measured properly or it was being wasted. She later discovered West and Davis were slicing the beef and hiding it in a non-working oven before putting it in the trash.
Investigators say West and Davis had been taking the bagged roast beef from the garbage bags at the end of their shifts for months, resulting in a loss of $2,800 in roast beef. They also discovered through surveillance video the pair had taken 143 drinks, 16 food items, and 49 “other” things. The total amount they allegedly stole was worth $3,495.
Each are charged with felony theft and conspiracy to commit theft.
