1. The Railroad Commission of Texas has nothing to do with railroads.
It regulates the oil and gas industry, plus surface coal and uranium mining. It USED to regulate railroads, dating back to the 1890s . . . but those duties were all taken over by the Texas Department of Transportation, starting in 1984.
2. Hawaii is the only state where McDonald’s still serves fried apple pies . . . everywhere else, they’re baked. There is ONE exception: A historic location in Downey, California, which is the oldest operating McDonald’s.
3. Walt Disney invented enclosed garbage cans to keep Disneyland from smelling bad. Until that point, public trashcans were wire mesh that didn’t block any of the garbage smell.
4. When movie credits say “no animals were harmed” during filming, that only means intentional harm on camera. It doesn’t include animals that are accidentally hurt or killed on set.
