In 2017, a man in Florida learned that the hard way. He had his female friend push the slot machine button for good luck. It was a $100,000 jackpot, but casino officials told the guy they had to pay HER. Legally, there’s no bet until the button is pressed. Things turned sour, and the guy didn’t get a dime.
2. Subway’s B.M.T. sandwich was originally named after the Brooklyn Manhattan Transit subway lines. Now it stands for “Bigger, Meatier, Tastier.”
3. The original plan for “Gremlins” was to use monkeys wearing masks . . . but when a test monkey freaked out, the producers realized they’d have to use puppets.
