1.  The nine largest metro systems in the world . . . subways and light rail . . . are all in China.  And SIX of them are less than 20 years old.

 

 

The U.S. only has ONE of the 25 largest . . . the New York City Subway.  And China doesn’t just have the nine largest, they have 17 of the 25 largest . . . with 12 of them opening in the past 20 years.

 

 

(The U.S. has only opened two small new metro systems in the past 20 years.  One in Hawaii earlier this year, and one in Puerto Rico in 2004.)

 

 

2.  A Japanese samurai visited Europe on a diplomatic mission in 1615 by sailing east to Mexico, then on to Europe.  Japan wouldn’t make another trip to Europe until 1862.

 

 

3.  More people died developing long-range ballistic missiles during World War Two than from those missiles being deployed.

 

 

4.  The “PT” in PT Cruiser stood for “personal transport.”

 

 

5.  There’s a town in South Carolina called North.  And it’s in the central part of the state.
