1.  No U.S. President has ever used the Emergency Alert System (or its predecessors) . . . possibly because the audio-only EAS messages might hinder the ability of the media to present live news coverage.

 

 

That said, it is used at a regional scale to share information about imminent threats to public safety, including severe weather and AMBER Alerts.  There have also been TONS of “tests” over the years, and a few false alarms.

 

 

2.  The marshmallows in Lucky Charms cereal have a name:  Marbits.
