1. No known hurricane has ever crossed the equator . . . and it’s very rare that they form anywhere near the equator.
That’s because of the Coriolis Effect . . . the force that causes the air to swirl. In the Northern Hemisphere hurricanes spin counterclockwise, and in the Southern Hemisphere they spin in a clockwise direction. So to cross the equator, they’d effectively have to REVERSE direction, which would be wild.
