In today’s Honky  Tonk Truth, Chris Young’s mom reveals something he used to do before he hit it big, Megan Moroney talks about her writing process, and Carly Pearce shares how she got Chris Stapleton on her latest song.

 

  • On the podcast Got It From My Momma Chris Young’s mom revealed that he used to breakdance in downtown Nashville for extra cash. Chris did this when he was young and still trying to breakthrough in the Nashville music scene. She said he even made as much breakdancing as playing during the CMA Fest one year!

 

  • Megan Moroney’s debut single “Tennessee Orange” is now No. 1 on the country charts and it shows off Megan’s skill as a song writer. Talking about her process she had this to say:

 

  • Last week Carly Pearce released her song “We Don’t Fight Anymore” which features Chris Stapleton. And the way she got him to agree to join her is a little unconventional. “I think the best thing yo can do is go to somebody’s wife. So I DM’d Morgane on Instagram.” Carly said in an interview. And her efforts worked because Chris is in her song! Morale of the story, always go to the wife first. Check out the interview below:
