Eric Church is up to something here.
Over the weekend he blacked out his profile picture on social media and posted a cryptic video of a radio dial and heavy static. But you could make out Jelly Roll and Ashley McBryde signing. The video cleared up when Church’s “Springsteen” started playing and the date 1.11.2023 was revealed.
Initially I assumed this was a tease of a new tour announcement with Jelly Roll and Ashley McBryde as openers. “Springsteen” is his encore/closing song after all so I felt it made sense.
But, Church has never been that easy to figure out. He has since posted another cryptic video with the same radio static theme. The voices are harder to pick out this time, but I hear Lainey Wilson and Travis Tritt for sure. This one end with “Heart on Fire” and the same date of 1.11.2023.
I doubt he would announce a tour with four opening acts considering he hasn’t had an opening act on his major tour in at least four years. So what could it be?
People are speculating it could be some kind of announcement for his SiriusXM channel “Outsiders Radio”. Others feel it might be announcing live performances for his new Nashville bar “Chief’s”. Some even think this is a possible greatest hits album??
Seems like everything is on the table right now. Can’t wait for tomorrow!!
